It's Only A Moment In time...Really

The truth, all the things that drive you crazy about your teen last only 7-10 years. I know that seems like an eternity, but it really does grow fast. All my daughter's friends who I love and adored as teens and now as young  men and women turning thirty are all amazing. They are accomplished, successful, driven, have beautiful homes, some have children, healthy wonderful partners and really happy lives. They did everything your teens are now doing. They had messy rooms, were sometimes disrespectful and bratty to their parents, never put their dishes in the dishwasher, didn't always get their homework done on time, had questionable relationships, partied, were late for curfew, etc etc  etc. Just like all normal teens. And then they grew up. And all that they embraced from their families, and all that they learned from living their lives have made them into the wonderful adults they are today.

Parenting power is all about having perspective.
